John Denham has welcomed the change of political control at Southampton City Council, which today voted to remove its Conservative administration.  The Council will now be led by Labour Leader Councillor June Bridle with support from the Labour and Liberal Democrat parties.

John Denham said “I welcome the Council’s decision.  The last few months of Conservative control have made it clear that Southampton needs strong leadership willing to work for all the City’s people.  I know that June can provide that leadership.”
