Southampton City Centre has changed dramatically over the last few years. New homes have brought life back to an area that used to empty when the shops closed. It’s a lively and interesting place to live.
But city-centre living is not without its problems. Some people have contacted me to complain about the lack of parking for residents while others are concerned about the anti-social behaviour of some of the people leaving the area’s clubs and late-night bars.
I’d like to know what you think about the area where you have chosen to live and what you feel I, as your MP, or the City Council could be doing to make it better.
For example, would residents parking permits be a good idea? Or would you like to see more buses? Or perhaps you would like more police and community support officers?
I can’t guarantee that I can provide all the answers but I can certainly raise your concerns in the right areas. I’d like to know what you think.
Would you be willing to join my listening panel on city-centre living? If enough people are interested, I'll arrange a meeting where we can talk about the issues that people like you face.
